CBD, short for cannabidiol, is part of the family of cannabinoids (chemical compounds) found in Cannabis Sativa species. Unlike THC, the most well-known cannabinoid present in cannabis, CBD has no psychoactive effects. CBD can be consumed in different ways: the most popular is CBD oil.

CBD oil is made by extracting CBD from the plant (Cannabis Sativa): from its flowers and leaves. Extracting the active principle from the plant is a meticulous and delicate process. We work with the most expensive method: CO2 extractions, to maintain as much as possible the natural therapeutic properties of cannabis (terpenes, aromas, and cannabinoids such as CBD).

This oily golden extract is mixed with a vegetable oil, such as hemp seed oil, to define its percentage of CBD. Concentrate percentages vary from at least 3% to 25%. Its healing properties make it an excellent natural medicinal alternative (or dietary supplement) for both people and animals.

At CBD Alchemy we use two carrier oils for our CBD extracts:

  • blue bottle: mixture with MCT (coconut oil)
  • green bottle: mixture with HSO (Hemp Seed Oil).

Is the effect the same? Yes, what matters is the percentage of CBD extract (3%, 5%, etc.). The only thing that changes is the taste: the MCT is rather tasteless; very subtle flavour.

Hemp seed oil has a much more intense flavour (for lovers of this unique flavour).

CBD Oil (extracted from hemp) is known for its multiple therapeutic properties. Naturally, CBD has anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties.

CBD helps the natural relaxation of the body. It regulates sleep, appetite, mood and reinforces the overall immune system. Several studies have found CBD to be highly beneficial to treat diseases such as:

  • Anxiety
  • Chemical dependencies
  • Epilepsy
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Crohn’s disease
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Arthrosis
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Hyperactivity
  • Insomnia
  • Against chemotherapy side effects

It also has a positive effect on certain neurodegenerative diseases. There are numerous studies that confirm the enormous potential of CBD as a natural remedy, and its powerful rehabilitative properties. Feel how your body welcomes absolute relaxation and calmness with our CBD Alchemy oils. We strive every day to offer you exquisite quality. We grow all our plants naturally, without pesticides or genetically modified organisms.

CBD is generally taken sublingually (apply a few drops beneath the tongue) or topically (apply a few drops on the skin). Feel the effects within 30 to 60 minutes. These may vary since everyone reacts differently to it.

Getting to know your dose is part of an observation task on yourself. Each of us is different:

  • Our symptoms (why we take it)
  • Our weight
  • Our tolerance to cannabis

You know your body more than anyone else. If you listen to it, it will tell you exactly what it needs. However, there are standard CBD milligram dosing references according to several studies. Here goes a reference table for you to have a starting point:

Weight Moderate symptomsStrong symptomsSevere symptoms

Intake related to intensity of symptoms:

  • General moderate health symptoms: moderate intake
  • Nausea: moderate to strong
  • Chronic pain: strong to severe
  • Sleep disorders: strong to severe
  • Anxiety: strong to severe
  • Epilepsy: severe
  • Cancer: severe
  • Migraine: moderate to severe

Hey, you’ve made it so far! Taboo around cannabis makes it sometimes difficult to address the subject… there is no reason to panic: cannabis, in its different varieties of plants (sativa, indica…) and its many forms of use (medicinal, therapeutic, cosmetic) and application (fabrics, clothing, paper…) has been used by humanity for more than 1200. Yup: more than 1200 years.

There exists an exhaustive list of specialists such as Mathias Broekers, Uwe Blesching, Leonard Leinow and Juliana Birnbaum, among many others who have shown through evidence the potential benefits of medicinal cannabis.

According to the studies that have been carried out to date, mammals have a system in charge of modulating pleasure, energy, and well-being in our body. According to Raphael Mechoulam (Leinow & Birnbaum, 2017) this system produces the so-called endocannabinoid receptors, which act as regulators of the organism. The cannabis plant contains similar chemical compounds (phytocannabinoids), which help to activate this system: as a key in a lock, the active principle of cannabis, contributes to the endocannabinoid’s system activation. Result: you naturally regulate your organism’s well-being.
